First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of an examination that typically takes 60 minutes. This will allow for time to complete a thorough and comprehensive periodontal exam. The examination will includes a tooth by tooth assessment, periodontal screening, oral cancer screening and a recommendation for hygiene therapy based on the personal assessment. We make every effort to schedule your hygiene therapy (cleaning) at the time of your initial appointment, however, this cannot always be determined until we review your medical and dental history. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.). For clients needing services beyond the scope of this practice, appropriate referrals will be provided.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your appointment:

  • Any x‐rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • Proof of dental insurance. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
